Restaurant Bjørk is a calm gathering place for enjoyable meals throughout the day. Here, you can start your morning with a generous breakfast buffet in comfortable surroundings, before the restaurant invites you in the evening to a fixed three-course dinner based on the finest seasonal ingredients.
The atmosphere reflects the surrounding nature, with views of mountains and open plateaus setting the scene for the meal. At the same time, Bjørk is a place for the whole family – we always offer a dedicated option for children, either as a buffet or a children’s menu, depending on the season and capacity. This allows both young and old to relax and enjoy the evening together.
Flavours and surroundings in harmony
At Restaurant Bjørk, the experience is as much about the space as it is about the food. The interior draws inspiration from the surrounding landscape, with natural materials, muted tones, and a warm atmosphere created through a balanced mix of sofas and chairs. Large windows invite in natural daylight and open up views of mountains, forests, and open plateaus, ensuring that nature is always present.
In the evening, a fixed three-course menu is served, based on the finest seasonal ingredients. The dishes balance Nordic flavours with subtle French influences, creating a cohesive and refined dining experience. The restaurant accommodates around 130 guests and is designed for both intimate dinners and relaxed gatherings – whether you arrive as a couple, with family, or in a larger group.
Did you know?
Norwegian furniture designer Gunleik Svardal was responsible for the interior design when Gaustablikk Mountain Resort first opened in the 1970s. Several of his pieces shaped the hotel at the time – and continue to do so today. The Fox chair can still be found in Restaurant Bjørk, serving as a subtle reference to the property’s heritage.
Although the hotel has since undergone extensive renovations, selected original elements have been preserved as part of the overall experience.
